1William Cummins house

William Cummins was stationed at Kindley AFB from 1958-60 These are his fellow airmen he lived with near Fort Victoria. Names forgotten over time

2 KAFB receiver site

Worked at Remote Receiver site located off base at Fort Victoria in St George. The Base Receivers had to be at a remote location to prevent the Base's Powerful Transmitters from interfering with reception. Photo is of fellow airman.

3 Ft Victoria is just up from Gun Powder Tavern

The antennas of the receiver site are visable. Drive over the top and you go into a moat. Road is blocked by barriers today but you can park your bikes and walk the rest of the way.

4 Map of Forts showing Ft. Albert and Ft Victoria

There were tunnels that led into each fort.

5 Barrack - Pink Palace

William Cummins stayed here when not at the house near Ft. Vic. Was also Headquarters building.

The Coast Guard Cutter "Campbell" is anchored in the harbour

7 Achilles Bay

William Cummins lived in a house at top left. You should see this bay now. Crew from Cruise ships docked in St. George walk to this beach on their off days. There is a popular restaurant/Bar located here now. This Bay used to be called the St. Georges Hotel Beach. It is next to Ft. St. Catherine. . From Achilles Bay West you have Coot Pond Then Tobacco Bay. Thanks to Bob Oleander for this info.
